Growing Afro and maintaining natural hair is completely different from dealing with chemically processes (relaxed) hair.
Despite the fact that natural hair is healthier, some people consider it to be unfashionable and unattractive. Contrary to those beliefs keeping natural hair is absolutely amazing and is now trending among black people around the world. I transitioned five months ago and I must confess it's been really amazing.
Natural hair has different textures ranging from corkscrews to fluffy s-shaped curls but regardless of the texture combination the same basic practices are needed to
maintain healthy hair.
These practices includes,
1. Pre-pooing
This refers to applying oil to hair before adding shampoo or conditioner this is really necessary for maintaining natural hair because it helps with moisture.
2. Detangling
Washing undetangled hair makes hair tighten around knots and making detangling extremely painful and difficult, therefore it is necessary to do this before washing. After pre-pooing use your fingers to feel and separate hairs from knots before washing and after washing repeat this process, because it helps boost your conditioning process and gives softer curls.
3. Use Organic Products
Purchase more organic products with lots of natural ingredients, avoid minerals and petroleum oil they cause dryness, buy more natural oil like coconut oil, almond oil and olive oil. Also buy products that are rich in protein and apply it to your hair to treat damaged ends.
4. Utilize Protective Hairstyles
To grow your natural hair try protective hairstyles like crochet, box braids, faux locks e.t.c load previous pages on this blog to check out amazing styles of protective hairstyles to make.
5. Protect Your Hair At Night
